Hi! I’m Autumn and I’m a transgender woman, welcome to my blog! This will be the platform where I’ll extend my unique voice, and use that to connect with you, the reader. I’m going to talk more about myself, to outline what you might expect when you read my blog!
I’m 28, and I’ve been conflicted with my gender identity for as long as I can remember. From awkward moments at puberty, to the difficulties dating in my early twenties, I was always aware something was off. I’m sure a lot of people like me can relate to the strange, blurred and sometimes horrible experience of gender dysphoria and pursuing comfort in gender euphoria.
This is what defines me; nothing else has in my life, other than the occasional drive to create, this is what compels me to live. Every day, it effects me, in small ways and large ways. It is my life, what makes me happy, what makes me a person. Deep within my heart, there is a desire to feel, and to accept those feelings. To express it briefly, in part, this is what makes me a woman, and I own that because I am my own woman.
The challenges and obstacles that transgender people face today are overbearing and lethal. The fascist and incompetent government in the United States stands as an immoral and deadly opposition to the equality of trans people and cis people, and effects more than just the marginalized queer people it targets. Resistance, now more than ever, is integral to our survival.
I do not propose violence. I do not possess physical strength to deter attackers or invaders. I do not wield a blade in which to fight against tyranny, nor am I a knight in an army defending against fascism. My weapon of choice is the pen, my battlefield, the paper. And I cannot fight alone.
Independent journalists, like Erin Reed, and trans/queer representatives and politicians like Zooey Zephyr are more important now than ever. Their efforts and words are my inspiration. Without trans people putting in the work to defend each other, I could not wield my blade and extend my voice to an audience.
And thus, life is more important than ever. In the face of the ever changing and unstable world, enjoying every day is important. And this is what this blog will be about, amongst sharing opinions and my life experiences.
About Me
I’ve already shared my name and age, but I usually play video games in my free time, and occasionally I take up hiking and photography. I like watching movies, shows and series. For instance, I just watched Nosferatu, The Lighthouse and Hereditary over the weekend with my friends. Godzilla movies, like Shin Godzilla, are some of my favorite movies ever. Adding to that, I usually like sci-fi content like the Dune movies, and more grounded realistic post-apocalyptic shows/movies like Station Eleven and the Fallout Amazon Series. I love playing Fortnite with my friends (zero build!!!), Elden Ring, Stardew Valley and some The Legend of Zelda games, here and there.
For who I am, other than being trans, I’m neurodivergent, I’m diagnosed with ADHD, medicated currently, and I think I have autism (I was diagnosed with Asperger’s when I was twelve but that’s been removed from the DSM-5). Lastly, I’m a proud lesbian! I’d figure people would love to hear about these things! I love connecting with people who are just like me.
Welcome
This website is under construction and a work in progress. It’s hosted by WordPress, of course, which requires a premium payment. I work a full time job and I pay rent, bills and have to pay for life, groceries and all. Blogging here will not be the way I earn income. I am not asking for a subscription, viewing my content will be completely free. The focus on how I spend my time has to be what earns me an income, so this is secondary. You do not have to expect to keep up with content regularly, and none of my work will be behind any kind of paywall.
There may not be a lot about me and my life that’s interesting, or stands out. I work five days a week and I live a normal life with no debilitating disabilities. But my identity is what stands out to me, and expressing that is important. The way if feels to be trans is unique than other human experiences. I want to express what that’s like, and my goal is to provide a voice for people who cannot afford and build a voice in this manner.
I am a part of the transgender community, and I am a part of the working class. I am providing my perspectives, my experiences and my voice here. I aim to connect with you, my reader, uplift you, and inspire you to fight for what’s right.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy what’s to come!
